Can I connect Modbus RTU I/O modules directlly to the CPS Touch without using a PLC?

Yes, this is possible for small applications. You can configure the CPS Touch as the Modbus RTU Master and the I/O modules as slaves, and then exchange data between the CPS Touch and the I/O modules. For complex logic and control tasks, it is best to use a PLC.
